New Home Is Where The Internet Is!  Tumblr’s 10-page limit is keeping me from posting the whole thing, so head on over to the webcomic to read the rest (plus a blog post with Paris photos and doodles).

I’m going to Strasbourg tomorrow!!!  I’m so excited.  We might take a day trip into Germany and the Black Forest 8-D AHHHHHH.  Back soon, love and hugs~

-Your friend Tally

I remember in a big hostel in Berlin I met a woman in her late sixties whose husband had died and since then her retirement plan was travel. She just went wherever she wanted, staying in hostels for two or three weeks at a time, slowly working her way around Europe.

I thought that sounded incredible. New experiences and new people for as long as you’re able. She was a wizard at cooking in those big industrial kitchens hostels have too.

This is always the sensation I try to get across to people about hosteling, so many people told us to be careful because we were a small group of young women; but it’s a completely unique mind set, it’s seriously one of the best things I’ve done in my life so far. When I’m having an horrendous anxiety attack over something I try to remember all the crazy shit I sailed through on mainland Europe and it usually helps fortify me a little.

I remember a lovely night in Rome spent eating a meat and cheese platter and drinking wine with two people I’d met in the hostel after a day spent looking around the Coliseum and the streets of Rome.

Visiting Niagra Falls and wandering Toronto for Nuit Blanches with people from a hostel and one of my oldest internet friends. We’d never actually met up until that point but it was like we’d never been apart.

I’ve visited so many people I’ve only met online, stayed in hostels in Europe and America and Canada. And it’s been amazing. Yes, be careful. Yes, I always worried a little (hence carrying my laptop with me around Rome), yes, there are things I do to be careful, but at the same time? I could get run over by a car in my little English village tomorrow. And honestly, the people you meet while travelling are often the ones who restore your faith in humanity ^^

Povelgia being auctioned off is just so hilarious to me like omg I can’t believe the Italian government is actually doing that
Local fishermen won’t go near the island and the government has had it restricted but now they’re trying to sell it I’m just
